The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild - REVIEW

(yes I know this isn't botw)
Quick announcement. Spoilers will turn up as dashes. That's all. Read on.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is Nintendo's newest instalment in the Zelda series, and marks the legendary series' 30th anniversary. Is it a good 30th? Or will this rot in the depths of failed Nintendo items, like the 64DD, or the Virtual Boy? Read on to find out (but I guess you know the answer)...

First of, this game is AMAZING. It's art style is simply glorious. Being able to take this on the go (lets face it, who got the Wii U version) was a LIFESAVER, especially when I had to leave home. I wouldn't cope without looking at Link, solving a shrine or 2 and maybe killing Ganondorf.

When I first got out the shrine of resurrection, I felt amazing. I had a Nintendo Switch, Breath of the Wild (1 2 Switch, but I'll make a review of that later), and I knew it was going to be one heck of a ride. After about 5 hours of gameplay, it was revealed to me... I'm not going to say. My lips are zipped on spoilers. But anyways, the Old Man was true to his word and gave me the paraglider. I instantly went where he told me to go: Kakario Village. It was in those next few hours of gameplay things got REAL plot (and spoiler) heavy. 10,000 years ago, guardians, this game's Princess Zelda, Ganon... All that jazz.

What I admired about BotW the most was the fact it sticks to true traditions (Zelda, Ganondorf, Master Sword etc.), but also throws everything out the window and reinvents it (Link can now jump, the Champions Tunic, no green elf cap etc.). Now, the only other Zelda game I've played (unfortunately) is the Amiibo Touch and Play of Zelda I, Amiibo Touch and Play of Zelda II and about 15 minutes of Phantom Hourglass, but even I know some things (there's an adult and child era, the Triforce of Courage (AKA Link), the Triforce of Wisdom (AKA Princess Zelda) and the Triforce of Power (AKA Ganondorf). There's also usually some fairy screaming in your ear about where to go next). Link was completely reinvented in this game, and I LIKE IT.

Now, the final boss fight was... alright... I won't spoil too much (like what happens after the final blow), but Calamity Ganon was amazing. Defeating him was cool. Baisicly if we took all of the mini-bosses, Dungeon bosses (of BotW) and threw them into any Ganon (pick your favourite, I don't know mine), we'd get BotW's Calamity Ganon. Defeating him took my ------ ------ and the ------ -----. Then we get to the 2nd stage: Dark Beat Ganon. Baisicly a giant pig covered in malice with lasers. You spawn with the horse first on your list, or the one you took out. I recommend you take out your best horse, leave it where it's standing, then go to fight Ganon. Anyways, you get the --- -- ----- to shoot weak spots, which show as a triforce, on his body. However, the --- -- ----- is WAY too powerful. It takes away around a sixth of his health with one shot. If you have ------'- ----, you can just use it, slow-mo shot around 3 of them, and Ganon is down to half health. Even his lasers are useful as they create an updraft so Link can shoot him easily. When the Malice Eye shows itself, you can just ride a laser, slow-mo, shoot it and beat the game. Done. Boom. Ganon's gone thanks to Link and -----. It felt too easy. So easy, I've beat him multiple times. However, it was still enough of a challenge that it drives you away if your not ready. When I wasn't ready, Calamity Ganon beat me to a pulp. I went back, got a ------ ------, the ------ ------, the Ancient Armor, a LOT of shrines and beat HIM to a pulp.

Now for the four dungeons. These are VERY plot heavy, so dashes to the rescue!
The Divine Beasts act as dungeons, guarded by 4 of Ganon's incarnations: Fireblight Ganon, Waterblight Ganon, Thunderblight Ganon and Windblight Ganon. They killed the 4 race's champions: -----, -----, ------ and ------. They come back in spirit form once you complete the dungeon and kill the boss fight. I found it so much of a challenge, I had to look up a guide. For half of Thunderblight's, and then all of the rest's. They we're a great challenge, and so much fun and touching to watch the cutscenes once completing them. One thing I would complain about is Fireblight's way of getting to it. Fireblight's Divine Beast is on Death Mountain, and there's probably the most frustrating escort mission in the form of Yunobo, -----'s distant nephew. However, once you get past this, the Divine Beast is fun and challenging.

Overall, I'd give The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild a 10/10. Amzing graphics, story, characters. There are a few annoying things, but most are just one-time things. If you'd like an uncensored version, leave a comment saying 'I want the spoiler tags removed!' or something like that and I'll get to it. Have a great day!
