The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild - All Clothing and Armor list (with a few exceptions)

Before I get to how to get all of these, I need to say a few things. All clothing sets are put together, and Amiibo clothing (Sheik's mask, Wind Waker set) are excluded (though I'll make another post on that if I get the amiibo). I'm also planning a post on the Kilton's Monster Shop side quest, so Dark Link and the monster masks aren't in here. And since I don't want to force you into a DLC paywall, I excluded the Nintendo Switch Shirt, but if you want, it's $20/£18/€21/¥2,634.

So, now that that's all out the way, sit back, relax, and enjoy!

Old Shirt

This one is a piece of cake: simply open the door after waking up and open a chest. If it's the Well Worn Trousers, simply open the chest next to it.

Well-Worn Trousers

As stated above, all you need to do for this one is to open one of the chests in the Shrine of Resurrection. If you get the Old Shirt, open the one next to it.

Champion's Tunic

To get this one, recall your first memory (I used the one at the Lanayru Road - East Gate) and then return to Kakario Village. Speak to Impa and she will give you the box art garb. This also lets you see how much health your enemys have with a fraction above their heads (e.g, a red bokoblin would have 13/13 above their life gauge)

Hylian [SET]

Set Bonus: N/A

This is compiled of no more than three separate clothing items. You can buy them at Kakario and Hateno village for the grand total of 270 Rupees (120 for the tunic, 90 for the trousers and 60 for the hood), and yes: the Hylian Trousers ARE the ones typicly worn with the Champions Tunic.

Soldier's [SET]

Set Bonus: N/A

This one is available to buy at Hateno Village for 630 Rupees (200 for the greaves, 250 for the armour and 180 for the helm). Once it get's buffed up by a Great Fairy or four, it's defence goes through the roof, along with the Ancient set and other things we will (and have) look at.

Warm Doublet

Bonus Effect: Level 1 Cold Resistance

You can get this in multiple ways. The first is to talk to the Old Man by a cooking pot on the Great Plateau with Spicy Meat and Seafood Fry in your inventory. He'll exchange you the reminder of the full recipe for the Warm Doublet. If you miss the Doublet (or use the Fry to walk up the mountain to the Keh Namut (Cryonis Trial) Shrine), he'll be waiting, congratulate you for making it up without it and give you the Warm Doublet. Finally, if you sell it, you can rebuy it at Hateno Village for 80 Rupees.

Ruby Circlet

Bonus Effect: Level 1 Cold Resistance

You can buy this at a jewellers at Gerudo Town after completing the side quest 'Tools of the Trade'. To do this, speak to the Gerudo outside of a shop you can't go into. She'll say she's ran out of flint, and she needs 10 pieces to reopen her shop. She'll give you a 'discount' if you buy there (this doesn't exist) and you can buy this for 500 Rupees. You'll also need 3 Rubies (the ore) in your inventory for this to be yours.

Amber Earrings

Once again, you'll need the 'Tools of the Trade' side quest complete. They're 100 Rupees a pop, along with 10 amber, and seem to be even more protective than the Hylian Hood when fully upgraded.

Snowquill [SET]

Head Piece: Level 1 Cold Resistance

Chest Piece: Level 1 Cold Resistance

Leg Piece: Level 1 Cold Resistance

Set Bonus (after Tier 2 Upgrade): Unfreezable

To get this, go to the Rito Village in the Hebra Region and to their armor shop. Like the armor shop in the Gerudo and Goron regions, they only sell one set: the Snowquill set. It's not cheap, either. Combined together, it gives you Level 3 Cold Resistance, but the game can only go to Level 2 Cold Resistance. The only reason to get the set is because of it's overpowered set bonus: Unfreezable. You can't be frozen (when Link get's covered in ice and can't move) by ANYTHING at all. See what I mean by overpowered? The head piece costs 1,000 Rupees, the chest piece costs 600 Rupees, and the leg piece costs 550 Rupees. So, altogether, the Snowquill set costs 2,050 Rupees. OUCH! If you want to save money, leave out the head piece until the later game, when you have more rupees, because you WANT that set bonus, believe me.

Sapphire Circlet

Bonus Effect: Level 1 Heat Resistance.

Another one of the Gerudo Jewel shops favourites. Want this? That'll be 3 Sapphires and 800 Rupees. It gives you Level 1 Heat resistance, good for the early morning and late afternoon of the wastelands, but not so good getting around 10:00-16:00, as it gets VERY hot in the Gerudo Desert, and you'll need Level 2 (the max) Heat Resistance to survive 24/7.

Desert Voe [SET]

Head piece: Level 1 Heat Resistance

Chest piece: Level 1 Heat resistance

Leg piece: Level 1 Heat Resistance

Set Bonus: Level 1 Shock Resistance

The Desert Voe set is VERY expensive, but it does let you explore all of the wasteland, 24/7. Each part gives you heat resistance, but it's another Snowquill set situation. To get this, you need the sidequest 'The Secret Club's Secret'. Go to the bar to the east of Gerudo town (If Link is facing south). Speak to the little Mother's Meeting on the couch upstairs. Then go to the armor shop, and continue down the alley to the right. Try to go through the door, and type in 'G', 'S', 'C' and then a diamond. The door will open to a store. This is also the only place you can be in ANY clothing in Gerudo town, if you get bored cross dressing link. The head piece is 450 Rupees, the chest piece is 1,300 Rupees(!!), and the leg piece is 650 Rupees. You can already see this'll be more expensive than the Snowquill set, being 2,400 Rupees for the set. It IS the only way to get to the Gerudo Great Fairy during the day, which is inconvenient if you want her unlocked. Also, there are shock enemys, so it's worth getting this set up to Tier 2.

Gerudo [SET]

Set Bonus (No upgrade required): Level 1 Heat Resistance.

To get this, travel to Kara Kara Bazar and head to the top of the building. Talk to the women(?) and shell out 600 Rupees for this set. If your rupee pouch is crying, this one has a reason: it's the ONLY WAY to get into Gerudo Town without the guards chucking you out. The Thunder Helm can also act as a Gerudo Veil thankfully. After buying this set, your seller's mask will fly off, and it's heavily hinted at that she is actually a he...

Topaz Earings

Bonus Effect: Level 1 Shock Resistance

These, once again (I promise you, there's only two more from Gerudo Town) can be bought from the Gerudo Town's jewlers for 500 Rupees and 5 Topaz. Eesh! That's a lot of topaz! However, this gives you Level 1 Shock resistance, which makes it worth it.... Until the next set....

Rubber [SET]

Head Piece: Level 1 Shock Resistance

Chest Piece: Level 1 Shock Resistance

Leg Piece: Level 1 Shock Resistance

Set Bonus: Unshockable

This, although looking goofy, is quite a good set, although couldn't be more spread around. The helm can be found at the Lakeside Stable. Speak to the girl sweeping around the stable. Talk to her and she'll complain about the lightning. Climb up the watch tower and look at the horse's head. Use magnesis to bring the axe down to the ground. Speak to her to get the Rubber Helm. The chest piece is located in the Toh Yasa shrine after doing the 'Trial of Thunder' shrine quest. Blow up all of the stones to reveal a chest buried in them. The rubber armor is in there. The Quakh Nata shrine holds the Rubber Tights, in it's typical blessing-type shrine chest.

Flamebreaker [SET]

Head Piece: Level 1 Fire Resistance

Chest Piece: Level 1 Fire Resistance

Leg Piece: Level 1 Fire Resistance

Set Bonus (Tier 2 Upgrade): Fireproof

The Flamebreaker set lets you traverse Death Montain, the scary looking volcano in the distance when you have that cutscene pan of the Great Plateau. The Flamebreaker helm costs a whopping 2,000 Rupees at the armor shop in Goron City. The Flamebreaker armor can be snagged for free with the 'Fireproof Lizard Roundup' side quest. Speak to a Hylian in the Southern Mine. Gove him 10 Fireproof Lizards to receive the Flamebreaker armour. Alternativley, it's on sale at the Goron City Armor Shop for 600 Rupees. The Flamebreaker Leggings can be brought at the Goron City Armor shop for 700 Rupees.

Opal Earrings

Bonus Effect: Level 1 Swim Speed Up

I'm sorry, but another (and one more) trip to the jewlers is required: The Opal Earings cost 200 Rupees and need 8 Opals as building materials. A good alternative to the Zora set if you haven't been to Zora's Domain yet.

Zora [SET]

Head Piece: Level 1 Swim Speed Up

Chest Piece: Level 1 Swim Speed Up

Leg Piece: Level 1 Swim Speed Up

Set Bonus (After Tier 2 Upgrade): Swim Dash Stamina Up

The holey grail for swimming. This set gives you A BIG swim speed up, not to mention it cuts your dash stamina usage in HALF, maybe even more. You can find the helm in Toto Lake, on Polymus Mountain. Use Magnesis to lift it out of the water. The Zora Armor can be found in an optional main quest (it's kind of spoiler heavy, so I won't say anymore about it) at Zora's Domain. For the Zora Greaves, there's a lynel on Polymus Mountain. Take a photo of it, then speak to someone in Zora's domain. You'll get the Zora Greaves as a reward.

Stealth [SET]

Head Piece: Level 1 Stealth Up

Chest Piece: Level 1 Stealth Up

Leg Piece: Level 1 Stealth Up

Set Bonus (After Tier 2 Upgrade): Level 1 Night Speed Up

The Stealth armour can be bought at Kakario Village. Inside their clothing shop, you will also find the Hylian set. The stealth mask cost 500 Rupees. The Stealth Chest Guard costs 700 Rupees, and the Stealth Tights cost 600 Rupees. So altogether, the Stealth Set costs 1,800 Rupees. Hopefully you still have some left from the jewellers!

The Thunder Helm

Bonus Effect: Lightning-Proof

The Thunder Helm was worn by Riju in another optional main quest at Gerudo Town (Again, spoiler heavy, so my lips are zipped). For you to don the Gerudo Heirloom, simply solve everyones problems in town. You have to bring 10 Wildberries to a women pigging out on hydromelons on the roof, find Barta at the Gerudo Great Skeleton (there's a fairy fountain here, too), kill a Molduga so someone's ailing husband can get better, and solve the Secret Club's Secret, which I told you how to do. Speak to Riju afterwards and she'll give you her Thunder Helm. This acts as a Gerudo Veil, too.

Climbing [SET]

Head Piece:Level 1 Climbing Speed Up

Chest Piece: Level 1 Climbing Speed Up

Leg Piece: Level 1 Climbing Speed Up

Set Bonus: Climbing Jump Stamina Up

This set is REALLY useful for climbing. And I mean REALLY useful. The climbing bandana resides at the Ree Dahee shrine. Use Magnesis on some barrels to reveal it. The climbing armor lays at the Chaas Qeta shrine. Finally, the climbing boots are at Tahno O'ah shrine. It's a blessing, so walk up the stairs to receive your reward.

Barbarian [SET]

Head Piece: Level 1 Attack Up

Chest Piece: Level 1 Attack Up

Leg Piece: Level 1 Attack Up

Set Bonus: Charge Attack Stamina Up

The barbarian set is AMAZING for attack. It gives you Level 3 Attack Up when worn as a set, and, if you've upgraded it twice, you can have an even bigger charge attack! To find this set, one piece is in every labyrinth. The north Lomei Labyrinth, the Lomei Labyrinth Island, and the South Lomei Labyrinth. Each is a maze to get to the blessing shrine.

Radiant [SET]

Set Bonus (After Tier 2 Upgrade): Stal Enemy Disguise and Stal Weapon Attack Up

This set can be bought from the Gerudo Secret Club, giving you have enough rupees and luminous stones, as you'll need 2,400 Rupees (800 for each piece) and 9 Luminous Stones to don this garb. It lights up in the dark, and if it's night causes more Stal-like enemys to appear (you know, the skeletal monsters? More of those). It's set bonus, however, might let you rule all of those monsters, as it acts like Kilton's masks, but for Stal Enemys, and lets you damage more if you bonk someone on the head with one of your disciples arms.

Diamond Circlet

Bonus Effect: Guardian Resistance Up

You'll be pleased to hear this will be are last visit to the Gerudo Jewellers, and unfortunately our most expensive. This costs 1,500 Rupees and 3 Diamonds. And if 1 diamond costs 1,000 Rupees, if your not lucky with the rare ore deposits, this'll cost you 4,500 Rupees (1,000 to the Gorons in Tarrey Town, 1,000 for the travelling Goron ore merchant, and 1,000 to any other ore merchant). Alternativly, if your good with a paraglider, you can fall down the chute in the Lomei Labyrinth Island, using the paraglider to break your fall. However, there's about 5 wrecked guardians in there, so fall down, grab the Circlet out the chest, and warp somewhere safer.

Ancient [SET]

Head Piece: Level 1 Guardian Resistance

Chest Piece: Level 1 Guardian Resistance

Leg Piece: Level 1 Guardian Resistance

Set Bonus: Ancient Proficiency (Guardian Weapons Attack Up)

The Ancient Set can be bought from Robbie and his machine at the Akalla Ancient Tech Lab. You'll need quite a few Ancient Parts, so I'll list what you need for the whole set. You'll need 9 Ancient Cores, 5 Ancient Springs, 5 Ancient Screws, 5 Ancient Shafts, and 60 Ancient Gears, not to mention 6,000 Rupees for 'Building Costs'. However, it's worth it, as guardians will go running for the hills if they see you in this. You can take a Guardian Laser to the face and be standing. It's probably one of the best sets. And if your upgraded twice and have an ancient sword handy, it gets beefed up when you wear this. So was it worth you weight in ancient materials, and your wallet? Yes, yes it was.

Sand Boots

Bonus Effect: Sand Speed Up

The sand boots can be taken from a Hylian male outside of Gerudo Town with the side quest 'The Eighth Heroine.' Warp to the Kema Kosassa Shrine and walk north until you see a statue. That's the eighth heroine. Snap a picture. Whilst your there, warp to the Keeha Yoog shrine and walk south. Snap a picture of a giant sword. Not only will you get the sand boots, you'll get to keep the snow boots, too.

Snow Boots

Bonus Effect: Snow Speed Up

These are given to you with the 'The Eighth Heroine' side quest to let you traverse the Gerudo Highlands. Follow the guide above to keep them and get the Sand Boots.

Of the Wild [SET]

Set Bonus (After Tier 2 Upgrade): Master Sword Beam Up

This set is basically Breath of the Wild's green tunic. How to get it, you ask? Complete ALL of the 120 Shrines in the game. There are guides on the internet (I'll leave a link to Nintendo Life's guide, as they have zoomed in pictures, numbered shrines and all of the regions in separate categories) to help you with this task, then other guides to help with the shrines. It seems to be a mix of the original Legend of Zelda, Legend of Zelda II: Link's awakening, and The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past's outfits, making this cool looking extra.

And that's it! We finished! All of the outfits! I decided not to include the Nintendo Switch Shirt, as I don't want to guide you into a $20 (or £18) paywall, and I'll do another one of these for Kilton's Monster Shop, so you can see Dark Link, the monster masks and the spring-loaded hammer. I've been Dylan, thanks for being patient and I'll see you next post!
